If you see a koala on the ground like this, please phone 0401 350 799 immediately for rescue.
After taking this female to the Koala Hospital, we discovered she had been caught previously also on the ground. She had a microchip inserted & was given the name "Sally" before being released.
This time, Sally was found on the ground again & taken to Hospital where they found she had developed cysts on the ovaries (Bursitis) which can be very painful & lead to a very painful death if left alone.
She was found to also have unusually long claws that would have prevented her from climbing tall trees for food. Unfortunately the best thing to do was to put her to sleep so she would not suffer any longer".
